Privacy policy
This policy explains what CortexMed collects about you, why we hold it, who else sees it, and how to get it deleted. It applies to med.cortexdesk.in and to everything you send us through it.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect
Account information
Your name, email address and profile photo, which come from the sign-in provider when you create an account, and the phone or WhatsApp number you give us so we can deliver your paper.
Information about your paper
The brief you write, the working title, the paper type, the specialty, your target journal, your deadline and any files you upload or send us in chat. This is the material we need in order to do the work.
Payment information
We do not collect or store your card number, UPI ID, CVV or bank credentials. Payments are handled entirely by Razorpay on their own secure checkout. We receive only a payment reference, the amount, the status and the payment method type.
Technical information
Standard server and security logs — IP address, browser type and timestamps — kept to keep the service running and to detect abuse.
3. Clinical and patient data
Please do not send us identifiable patient information. Remove names, hospital numbers, addresses and any other identifiers before you share data or case details with us. We do not need them, and de-identifying the material is your responsibility as the treating clinician. If we notice identifiers in something you have sent, we will tell you and ask you to resend a de-identified version.
4. Why we hold it
- To write, revise and deliver the paper you have asked for
- To take payment and issue receipts and refunds
- To answer you in the support chat and by email, WhatsApp and phone
- To keep the records that Indian tax and accounting law requires
- To keep the service secure and prevent fraud
5. Who else sees it
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. It is shared only with the following, and only to the extent each one needs:
- Clerk — authentication and account sign-in
- Convex — the database and file storage behind the service
- Vercel — application hosting
- Razorpay — payment processing, under their own privacy policy
- The writer assigned to your paper, who is bound by confidentiality
We will also disclose information where the law or a court order requires it.
6. How long we keep it
Order records, payment references and the papers we have delivered are kept for 8 years to meet Indian tax and accounting requirements. Support conversations are kept for 3 years. Your account and the material attached to it are deleted on request, except for records we are legally required to retain.
7. Confidentiality of your work
Your brief, your data and your manuscript are yours. We do not reuse them for another customer, publish them, sell them, or feed them into any product of our own. Once the paper is delivered, the copyright in it is yours.
8. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Send you a copy of what we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your account and the material attached to it
- Stop contacting you other than about an order in progress
Email support@cortexdesk.in and we will respond within 30 days.
9. Security
Traffic is encrypted end to end over HTTPS. Files are stored encrypted at rest. Access to customer material is limited to the people who need it to do the work, and payment credentials never reach our systems at all.
10. Cookies
We use only what the site needs to work: a session cookie so you stay signed in, and cookies set by Razorpay during checkout. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.
11. Children
CortexMed is a professional service for practising clinicians and researchers and is not intended for anyone under 18.
12. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and tell account holders by email before the change takes effect.
